Legal services under the name Aurea Legal are provided by attorneys registered with the Czech Bar Association under Act No. 85/1996 Coll., on the Legal Profession.

Supervision
The practice of law is supervised by the Czech Bar Association, Národní 118/16, 110 00 Prague 1, www.cak.cz. Attorneys are bound by the Act on the Legal Profession and by the profession's rules, in particular the Code of Ethics.
Out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes
If you are a consumer, you have the right under Section 14 of Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, to out-of-court resolution of a dispute arising from a contract for legal services. The body designated for such disputes is:

A proposal to commence out-of-court resolution must be filed within one year of the date on which you first asserted the right that is the subject of the dispute.
Fees
Fees are agreed contractually, usually as an hourly rate or a fixed amount for a defined scope of work. Where no fee is agreed, Decree No. 177/1996 Coll. (the Attorney Tariff) applies. We inform you of the expected scope of work and fees before the engagement begins. In addition to fees, the client bears out-of-pocket expenses and compensation for time spent travelling.

Professional liability insurance

Confidentiality
An attorney is bound to keep confidential all facts learned in connection with the provision of legal services (Section 21 of the Act on the Legal Profession). Only the client can release the attorney from this duty.
Client identification under AML rules
When providing the legal services defined in Section 2(1)(g) of Act No. 253/2008 Coll., we are required to identify and screen the client, including establishing the beneficial owner and the origin of funds. Without the client's co-operation in this process the legal service cannot be provided.
Language and governing law
We provide legal services in Czech, Slovak and English. The contractual relationship with the client is governed by the law of the Czech Republic.

If you are not satisfied with a service, please speak first to the partner leading your matter — most situations are resolved immediately. A complaint may also be filed with the Czech Bar Association at the address above.
